2018 is the 90th Anniversary of the Club.
The weekend volunteer Surf Patrol commences on Labour Weekend and runs right through until Easter. There is also a 4-6 week period during high summer whereby paid Northern Region Lifeguards patrol the beach from Mon-Fri.
What we do
WCSLSC is a volunteer Surf Life Saving Club, which offers an after hour lifesaving service. We are responsible for lifeguarding, sport, and education services to our community and its members. Our club is a small club with a strong local membership, as well as a long history with Auckland based members. JOIN US
Our Junior Surf (U14) Programme is also run by volunteers. This year we have approximately 90 Junior Surf Members. As well as our U14 Junior Surf Programme, we run a Rookie Programme for 13 Year Olds and a Training Lifeguard Programme for 14+ Year Olds. More about Junior Surf
Waipu Cove Surf Life Saving Club (WCSLSC) is a constituted member of the Surf Life Saving Northern Region Incorporated. We are situated half an hour South of Whangarei, in the Whangarei District.
During our 2014-15 Season, 50+ members passed their Surf Lifeguard Award. This was thanks to a select group of Lifeguard Instructors who gave up their time to deliver regular training sessions covering; First aid, theory bookwork, 400m pool swims, run-swim-run in the surf and tube rescues…
