It has been hard to get information about the programme for the Games, but a small flyer has come around with the following information:
The 143rd Highland Games are once again being held at the Caledonian Park in Waipu on Wednesday 1 January. The event begins at 9am with the March of the Clans at the Main Gate. Come along and join the fun, festivities, competitions, dancing, piping and much more. This time we are staging a mighty tug-o-war with public participation. (Sorry no starting time is provided for this)
Highlights include Competitions for Scottish Dancing, Fiddling, Piping and Drumming and other events such as Highland Heavyweights, NZ Championship Senior and Novice Field events, Athletics and Tartan in the Park Fashion Competition.
There is Plenty of parking, lots of food and beverages, including a bar, an Avenue of Clan and Vendor Stalls for you to stroll around. Don’t miss out on this historic and fun filled event.
